Global Support Trust (GST) is a UK registered charity founded in August 2011, working both in the UK and Internationally. Since 2011 we have worked in over 15 countries.
Global Support Trust has been founded upon the principle of fulfilling our obligation to those in need. Our life changing work supports some of the most vulnerable people across the world. This help includes financial aid, emergency food response, healthcare, educational support for children and adults, and clean water solutions.
We strongly believe transparency is vital in charitable work. Unfortunately in the UK today, Islamic giving has become big business for the large Islamic charities. Many are competing for our donations with glamorous fundraising events, glossy brochures and television advertising campaigns, however all of this has to be paid for somehow. Many people are beginning to question how much of their donation is actually received by the intended beneficiaries. The question of whether charities are applying Zakat correctly is also a big issue.
We pride ourselves on being transparent in all of our program deliveries where the
maximum amount of your donations reach the beneficiaries. Every donor large or small
is important to us, and receives the same attention.
All of our programs fulfil an identified need by our field officers, ensuring that real change happens where it is needed most. We monitor and evaluate our work to ensure that the objectives are met and that any necessary changes are made.
100% Donation Policy
We maintain a strict 100% donation policy. Of course there are expenses involved in carrying out the work we do, but these expenses are covered by Gift Aid and sometimes our generous donors contribute to our Administration Pot to cover running expenses. Larger bespoke projects do incur a fixed fee to deliver, costings are on a case by case basis.
We believe that providing regular feedback is very important, it is not just about asking you every few months to donate towards another appeal. We regularly update donors as to the progress of projects they have donated towards, as well as personally involving donors in fulfilling projects. In the past donors have also visited projects they have donated towards.
We provide regular feedback to all of our donors, no matter the size of project. This is important to us as we believe that you, the donor, deserve to know how we are utilising your donation. Larger projects will be allocated a dedicated account manager. As well as written feedback, we invite our donors to personally visit larger projects upon completion.
We collect zakat all year round and ensure that it is given to those eligible by hand. At GST we take the responsibility of zakat distribution very seriously. This was one of the core reasons the charity was set up. All beneficiaries are meticulously assessed, and distribution is strictly according to Islamic principles.
Obviously we would like you to donate your Sadaqah and Zakat through us so we can increase the work we are doing and Insha’Allaah be able to help more individuals. But if do not wish to donate through us, please check where you are donating to ensure the funds are applied correctly, especially when you donate your Zakat.
If you have any comments or questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
